It’s been two whole seasons, and we’re all still friends. Can you believe it?
The whole crew is in this week, plus a sometimes-guest becomes actual family!!!
Updates since recording:
Ozzie to Minnesota United FC (We want Sigi/Ozzie statues on the CLink entry stairs)
S2 Home Opener moved to Friday March 8
This show we cover the implications of likely roster moves (two major decisions completed before posting re: Brad Smith and Legend Osvaldo Alonso) to our first-team formation, discuss depth issues and where holes need to be filled to resolve that depth.
We also relate these issues to the Winter Window (will we make an off-season signing?) and the overall stature of the Seattle Sounders Football Club, and share some ideas to make this Single-Entity/DP scheme more interesting & useful.
Remember, all we do, we do in love.
We take the chance to have a great conversation with Niko Moreno @ELROLONOW on an ongoing rumor re: Nico Lodeiro, and the new well-earned contract for Cristian Roldan, as well as his take on its parity with the Jordan Morris contract. Why haven’t we made a big signing yet? Should we be worried that Kelyn Rowe has signed elsewhere, and other teams are making moves (even if they’re not so big? Is Torres sticking around? What are the places we need to shore up, and what should we make of the Sounders off-season strategy so far?

Apologies to ABC, owner of the parodied opening theme from the A-Team.
So here is what I should have said when Nate asked me what I would do if I was to become the soccer czar of the USA…

THE SONG OF MY PEOPLE
The vivid green which stretches to the strand
The immortality of love proves true ;
And that above which shuts life in, the blue,
Is love's fidelity to life's demand.
--from The Sages, by N.M. Sedarté

Future and history are one
'Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!'
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.
--from Ozymandias, by Percy Shelley
It finally happened — the @FloundersBTeam met with the makers of our favorite tequila Sparkle Donkey, Black Rock Spirits in SoDo, Seattle. We talk about the Legend of El Burro Esparkalo, how Tequila gets made, what inspired a small business to import a tequila, the story behind the ridiculous name, and the natural partnership between soccer support and tequila.
